Watch Glee Episodes Online – From Ryan Murphy, the creator of “Nip/Tuck,” comes GLEE, a new comedy for the aspiring underdog in all of us. The series follows an optimistic teacher, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), who — against all odds and a malicious cheerleading coach — attempts to save McKinley High’s Glee Club from obscurity, while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential. It focuses on a high school show choir, also known as a glee club, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.
The show has been compared to film series High School Musical and TV series Grey’s Anatomy and The Office. However Matthew Morrison has stated that Glee is “more edgy than High School Musical, as Glee features and focuses more on adult characters, and has more realistic social interaction amongst the student characters. Glee bounces onto the screen as a mishmash of genres, each with a long and, to be honest, hackneyed history. Glee draws as well as from stories of high school’s lower castes, where freaks and geeks prove human too.
The Daily News’s David Hinckley opined that the show was imperfect and implausible but “potentially heartwarming”, while USA Today’s Robert Bianco noted casting and tone problems, but commented positively on the show’s humour and musical performances. Though “Glee” is fantastic and surprising on a number of levels, it’s still a musical. It has riotous comedic moments from Lynch that are offset by heartfelt, let’s-put-on-a-show musical numbers.
